O2 is the number one internet and mobile phone service provider in the UK. Its Mobile Broadband gives its subscribers access to its data network ranging from the slowest GPRS to 3G and HSDPA for up to 3.6Mbps access speeds.  With any of its plans, you get unlimited access to its Cloud and BT Openzone WiFi networks in the UK numbering in excess of 7,500 “hotspots” as of this writing.  That means with your laptop or netbook, you can browse the internet in many of these hotspots that include malls, train stations and major airports.  The O2 site contains a hotspot locator listing all the UK places with it.

It comes with a free USB broadband dongle either way. Both plans come with unlimited WiFi service.

Pay & Go

O2 mobile offers minimal internet users with the option for Pay & Go where you pay one-time for its broadband USB dongle at only £29.35.  Then you can pay for as low as 2 per day but you also have a choice for a weekly and monthly payment on a 500MB, 1GBand 3GB download limit.  This option is also made available to business users.
